Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends!

Three years ago St. Petersburg I. Pavlov State Medical University has celebrated its centenary.
This year we celebrate the 100-year jubilee of the Faculty Therapy Chair, along with the century jubilee since the birthday of Prof. T.S. Istamanova who guided this Chair from 1948 to 1974. The history of the Chair is tightly connected with development of haematology in our country.
The Chair has initiated the foundation of the Center of Haematology at SPbMU at the year of its jubilee. Arrangement of the Center of Haematology with a Bone Marrow Transplantation Department has substantially augmented the standards of haematological, oncological and transfusiological facilities at SPbMU.
I would like to congratulate the staff of Faculty Therapy Chair and all specialists of the Center of Haematology of SPbMU on this Jubilee.
Successful activities of our haematologists are determined by the cooperation and support from our foreign colleagues.
In the person of Prof. Dr. med., Dr.h.c. A. Zander (Germany) and Prof. Dr. med., Dr.h.c. A. Fauser (Germany), I would like to express my deep gratitude to our foreign colleagues for providing access to modern achievements in haematology, oncology and transfusiology to our patients.
